Have you ever begun a creative process and suffered a lapse when distractions hit at every side? I purposed to look through some new bridal fashions when I immediately grabbed some old photos for inspiration. In a moment of nostalgic reflection, I happened to gaze over at my mother’s old wedding pictures – a dream of elegance draped in lace and white buttons cascading down her back. Sitting next to her photographs lying on mom’s pictures covering the image of her soft, flowing veil lied a current bridal magazine. My, how times have changed! Reds, greens, purples, and yes, even blacks have paved the entrance into bridal styles everywhere.
Like a dust in the wind, the days of the white, soft, flowing, bridal gowns have drifted away in the breeze of incoming modern fashions. Of course, if you still adore tradition and a feminine touch, white wedding gowns are sure to remain forever. But if you emanate a type of rebel persona, one that likes to push the envelope, you don’t have to worry anymore about adding a splash of color or style to your wedding dress to express your unique personality.
Adding color and style is easy with all of the options available. Purple lace accents or red belts and sashes boast all the rage. Rocker girls love fingerless gloves and silver chains elongating their necklines. I have even seen full black wedding gowns, yes, from the top of the head to the bottom of the black died tulle veil! And you know what? It was beautiful because it reflected the bride’s personality.
Maybe you still love the traditional white wedding gown, but something within you desires a break from the wedding fashion status quo. Don’t be afraid to inject your personal style into your wedding day. Adorn a red rose in your hair to match your bouquet or drape a heart necklace with a colored jewel around your neck. Wrap a beautiful and colorful shawl around your shoulders for a more dramatic effect.
It’s your day and whatever style you choose will look amazing. Anything you envision can become a reality. When you look back at your wedding day pictures, you should feel happy and beautiful! Oh, and my mom, she still loves traditions…I do also…but if you ever run into her…you never saw this post!

here we go again! another celeb wedding and most of the people i know have never heard of the couple! well, maybe it is because we don’t watch TV or see many films…don’t know…but could someone enlighten me here? being fair to those that actually know these two and follow their careers, here ya go with the latest news from hollyweird…
milla jovovich and paul w.s. anderson tied the knot this past weekend at their beverly hills home according to people magazine…they already had a home together…did they really need to get married? never mind…that’s an entirely different blog post…
apparently milla, 33 years old, walked down the aisle in a self-designed white wedding dress…their many guests watched with abatement during the outdoor ceremony and quickly received a treat of authentic Cuban music, a four-tiered wedding cake and a full day of festivities…
they rushed out to celebrate their honeymoon (where to i haven’t a clue) but had enough time to update their twitter (God forbid they forget to tweet every second of their lives). Milla’s tweet stated…“The weding was graet. I was so happy to be married.i wore my own designed dress.”… guess she was in too much of a rush to do a spell check…
dating since 2002, they met on the set of a film anderson directed…they have a 20 month old daughter together…
it’s fun writing about hollywood and the antics of these so-called celebrities and glancing at wedding pictures, but in truth, we wish them all of the joys that marriage can offer…

you’re getting married and you want it to be a very special day!
well, alastair and caroline nightingale were married on italy’s amalfi coast (sure beats the local knights of columbus)…their dream location for their nuptials, who could ask for anything more?
well, they didn’t ask for it…but they sure got it!
in the style that denzel washington is known for, he ran into the england couple after their ceremony in positano…
the 50 something superstar actor was enjoying a leisurely lunch with his beautiful wife, pauletta, when he saw the bride and groom exiting the nearby chapel…jumping from his chair, he raced over to congratulate the bride and groom…
“he made our day,” said mr. nightingale, a financial consultant… “he is a really nice guy and totally charming.”
you might think running into the hollywood A-lister once would be enough for any couple, but not for the nightingale’s! that night they ran into the washington’s again and denzel bought them drinks…
if I were the nightingale’s…i’d play lotto….
so it was all over the internet…jaime pressly urinated publicly, in front of a west hollywood establishment, the abbey…eek…
the photo which shows the star crouching down with a puddle of water underneath her dress truly justifies the saying, ‘a picture is worth a thousand words!’ i mean, it implied exactly what it was supposed to…but why oh why would she do that? temporary loss of insanity? i think not…

photos of the former “my name is earl” star cropped up everywhere…and understandably…but why did she do it? loss of bladder control?
according to jaime, she was part of a ‘bridal shower dare’ prank! “yes…that is me doing dare #8 at my bridal shower…things are not always what they seem” jaime expressed on her twitter page…”notice my hand in the back…it’s pouring a bottle of water!!!”
after many were still in an unbelieving mood she added, “c’mon guys! do you think I would really pee in the entry way to the abbey in broad DAYLIGHT!!!”
my feeling is…if you are a hollywood star watcher, check out the abbey after dark…you might just find her there…ummm…without a water bottle in her hand…
word to the wise…be careful with bridal shower dares…perhaps ask for a list and pick the several you feel comfortable doing…if any involve urinating in public…ummm, i think i’d pass…

It isn’t often that i laugh during a wedding ceremony…either i’m very caught up in the emotion of how touching it is or my mind is perusing the guests thinking how everyone looks (older, fatter, bald, facelift blahblahblah) and checking out who divorced who…who married who…and all of the random thoughts that accompany not seeing people for a long time…
but watching this video shed an entirely new light on getting married…it truly turned what can be a very boring ceremony into fun and a celebration…and whether you agree with the “lack of tradition” for your own wedding or not, you have to appreciate that the guests definitely were not watching their watches to find out “when this thing is going to be over!”
weddings should be a celebration…festivities that rejoice in 2 lives coming together in love to make 1 beautiful, life-long relationship (yes, i’m a romantic…still believing in love!)…and after i watched this video…several times i have to admit…it rekindled the joy that should be part of every wedding…
am i saying that everyone should do this? God forbid…no! i mean, check out some of these people…i don’t think they know what music is…reminds me of steve martin in “the jerk”…sheesh…for those individuals, stick to “here comes the bride” and do the step-together – step-together down the aisle and call it a day…
but some of the wedding party and the bride and groom made this a day to remember…
my only regret is that there aren’t videos of the reception! can you even imagine???

Well, another Hollywood wedding has walked itself down the aisle…and this one took over 8 years to finally be consummated…ummm…i mean to be made legal. rhea durham, mother of his 3 children finally exchanged vows with mark wahlberg, actor/producer on Saturday, aug. 1st…their children, ella rae – 5 years old, michael – 3 years old and and an infant son took part in the wedding as well…
i have to say…after just having a baby, she looked amazing in her stunning white strapless gown with silver embroidery by marquesas and a neil lane platinum diamond bracelet and earring set…
during a ceremony at the good shepherd catholic church in beverly hills, only a dozen or so close friends and family witnessed the brief ceremony. After 8 years of relationship, you might think the “goal” of tying the knot would take a bit longer than a brief, “do you take this bride?” and “I now pronounce you husband and wife”…but we live in a microwave society…go figure…
but mark, according to an eyewitness, choked up but not a tear appeared in the eyes of model rhea…
let’s hope the marriage lasts longer than the amount of time it took to say “I do”
